Ok this is the introduction thread so I'm INTRODUCING myself.
I'm 28 I'm a service member and I've been following this path for more then a decade.
To be honest when I started I was reading the Star Wars books and I can't remember which one bt I read about the code. and One of the books went more indepth on the actual practice of Jedi.
so In my youth I was able to feel that this was the path to choose this was the way to acheive my balance.
So through a work of fiction. I found a path that I am supposed to follow.
Understand I take this very seriously I'm not a role player I don't even own robes. I do have starwars collectables(but who doesn't... lol)
I folow the path and the code strictly as written.
this information is so you all would further understand the root of my comments.
May the Force be with You all.

I think you will find that most of the members here take the same stance as you do :)
Myself I enjoy a bit of both worlds. I do alot of Role Play and enjoy it very much, I love to dress in robes, visit Gen Con's, watch the movies, read the books, and do everything else that is care free and Fun. That does not mean that I don't know how and when to take things seriously as well. I have my morals and standards like everyone else :) I just know how to have fun while doing it.

likewise i'm not a role player...however i do have the robes, and not the fancy movie replica ones but ones i made myself...i don't wear them all the time(i would if i could because they're really comfortable). i've been a jedi for quite a while...it seems there are more and more military folks turning to the jedi way...when i was in the navy i only met 3 others (my 3rd apprentice, and later my 4th and the 1st apprentice for my former)
currently i'm working on installing an autobaton into a lightsaber hilt to make a dual use device (working lightsaber on one end and defensive tool on the other)

Hey Welcome!
If you read our blogs and posts - you will find a big diversity among the Jedi with the one string running through us all the same... As is true with most faiths/beliefs/philosophies - there is always individual interpretations - yes.
Again - welcome!

Welcome to the JRC, Ander! I'm glad you found your way here. As you can tell from the comments above, the members here are serious about the Jedi path, but also like to have a little fun as well. The focus of this site is on following the Jedi path in real life, so you've definitely come to the right place. Maybe you can even meet some of the other serious Jedi realists in Florida or make it out to one of our annual Gatherings. Please let me know if you have any questions.

lol, nope, he's elsewhere. We met-believe it or not before either one of us realized we had spoken on the internet first two days prior to our meeting-in person yesterday.
I met him officially at JediChurch.org and asked him to look into JRC. That night I called him after a friend gave me his number telling me there was a Jedi on island-still had no clue they were the same person. Last night we talked, when he told me a couple of key things about his philosophy on being a Jedi that triggered the connection between "Ander Ro'sal" and himself. lol, talk about the Force working to connect our community!!!!
Welcome to the JRC, Ander. I am glad that we were able to talk last night, it gave me a lot of insight.
