Nutrition Data (http://www.nutritiondata.com/) is a really neat site I came across that not only provides nutritional information for all the different kinds of foods, but also lists their pros and cons and analyzes their nutrient balance, protein quality, glycemic load, inflammation factor, fullness factor, optimum health, etc. You can even analyze recipes among a lot of other neat features.

Anyhow, I'm posting it here for reference in case any one else is interested in checking it out.

Thank you for posting the site. I teach the nutrition part of the nursing program and have been putting together a list of sites for the students. This site may actually be useful for an assignment or two.

Most of the sites that I have are about issues in nutrition. Here is my list so far for anyone interested:

I will say that I enjoy the one dollar diet project site the most. It came about when the young couple decided to experiment and live on one dollar a day for each of them. It was very interesting to follow their travails and really made me think about how lucky I am to not have to worry much about the cost of food. It was an interesting read and well worth digging up.

Thanks for the links, Abby. Maybe we can even set up a section for nutrition and health related links in the JRC links section.

That dollar diet one is particularly interesting. I almost never buy lunch or eat out because I can make my own healthier meals for only a couple dollars or less versus $7 to $15 or more. A dollar a day is quite a feat, though.
